Are you kidding me?!

Check this out.
What is WRONG with people? This is even worse than those stupid decals that have little stick figures for every member of your family... and your dogs if you are really crazy. First, why, in this world of fraud and identity theft, would you advertise to strangers to know your name? Come on Travis and Lindy... On top of that, this car is parked in its covered spot, labeled with their house number. So now people know where Travis and Lindy live, their first names, what kind of car they drive, and the license plate.

Second, it's totally lame. It's like rednecks who get tatoos of their third wife's name on their butt. Or those custom license plates like the one I saw tonight that said AXCELR8R. It was a Mazda sports car of some kind, but really? Not only do you have to get a stupid sports car to make up for whatever insecurity you've got, you have to flaunt it even more by pointing out that sports cars are supposed to go fast... oh brother...

Anyway, thought I'd share the photo... and rant for a bit.

I'm not quite sure what these decal things are all about. Really do we need to put our names on our cars or any other fancy do-dads for that matter? We are all gald you are together but on the car in fancy letters? I think not. These decals of all kinds really need to stop. The other day I saw a big white decal of a hand granade on the back of a SUV. I'm not quite sure what inspires a person to add these decals to their car and I don't think I'll ever know. :)

they obviously were not thinking of resale when they put that sticker on their car. Hope they come off easily.

I'm with you guys. And down with people's names on license plates, too!! I don't put stickers on my car, unless they are small and tasteful and highly removable. Garrett- isn't that the surfer girl story?
My mom has a picture of my older brother with his name on his shirt when he was little. Now she says that probably wasn't a great idea to send him to school with his name plastered all over himself. But, you live and learn. :)

at first glance I thought this might be refering to a certain couple that you are in close contact on a daily basis, but then rather quickly read the names. Huh, so obvious it hurts. Anyways thanks for the classic rant of people's stupidity!

Glad everyone's agreeing. I wrote this late and wondered how relevant and coherent I was while writing. And Caron, yeah, I still want to get that dang surfer girl off my car... wish I could do it without damaging the paint!

O.K. Garrett, this is the first I've looked at your blog and I have to let you know something. Garth purchased some of the "stupid" stick figures of our family to on the my fabulous mini van. I think mine aren't too bad though, because every person is holding a MX helmet and we have a couple four wheelers to put with them. You can think I'm corny, that's o.k. I just thought I would share! =) But the names are really not a great idea. Love, Tori
