Weight loss update

Remember when I siad I was going keep everyone updated on my weight loss dealio? Yeah... Well, here's the first one.

I've been going for about a month and half (maybe 2 months now?) and I'm doing ok. As of last week I had lost 25 pounds and I was losing weight every week. As of this week, I've lost 23.5 pounds. I went up a pound and a half this week. This can never happen again. I need to do better.

So here's my re-commitment to tracking all my food and exercising more. I REALLY need to work on the exercising more. I think I have had my dramatic loss with just diet, and now I've got to take it up a notch. I need to show a little more restraint at restaurants and need to stop eating out at work. Check up on me, ok?

So all you folks that said you'd support me... any ideas? What can I do for exercise now that I'm kicked out of my house (update coming soon) and don't have a gym membership? I know my ward does sports night every Thursday night, but with work being as crazy as it has been (update coming soon), I don't like to stay up that late. Or I like to stay up late doing other things...

So that's my update. I'm not feeling uber motivated, so I'd appreciate some ideas and words of encouragement. Even from you lurkers that don't comment often.

I've found that Leslie Sansone's Walk At Home workouts are the best for me (www.leslinesansone.com/store), and she has a video aimed at the fellows :)

Good luck Garrett!

you could go on walks with your girly friend then you guys can still spend time together and you get exercise. I lost the baby weight by taking the dog and baby on walks. I haven't been walking lately and I haven't lost anymore weight so I think it helps

I've started getting workout videos from the library and doing a different one every day. That way I'm not getting bored and I'm not breaking the bank.

Our friend Anne Richey is on facebook (just so you have a lead on where to find her) and she always had great ideas for our cross training days when Bonny and I were training for the marathon. My favorite was pool running, but I can't really remember any others.
I don't know what your work is like, but adding a little weight training to any exercise routine can work wonders for upping your metabolism. May I suggest getting some of those ball weights and using them at your desk (or whatever) in your spare minutes. Or, once Jentry said that she was using one of those big exercise balls as a chair for part of the day (too much for all of the day) and that will strengthen back muscles and improve posture as well as a host of other things like flexibility.
Good luck!

Walk during lunch at work.

You might try the track at the high school or try walking/running the bleacher steps.

Mini-tramp in front of the TV :)
I actually tried that. It's harder than it sounds!

Dude I think that what you've lost is an awesome accomplishment. You should focus on the success you've had, and not the little that you backtracked. I think you're awesome GWard!

PS - Can't wait for the two updates you promised.

Hey, I was just talking to this guy and he said his doctor put him on a diet and he has had AMAZING results. I know your doing WW, but maybe you can use this to help too. It's called the TNT diet. You have to be pretty disciplined with it, but the guy lost a lot of weight in a VERY short time. Just passing it on. :)
